Sprigplay

School readiness · ages 4–5

Is my child ready for school? Find out calmly — then practice what matters.

A 25-point check-in you do by watching a normal week (no quizzing), then twelve weeks of play aimed at whatever needs a little practice: listening, getting along, independence, little hands and early learning.

  • 25 everyday observations across 5 areas — printable, no scores
  • 12 weeks × 4 play activities, each week targeting one area
  • Last two weeks rehearse real school routines: backpack, lunchbox, goodbyes
  • Clear, gentle note on when to talk to your pediatrician

What's inside

The check-in

Talking & listening, getting along, thinking, moving & little hands, doing it myself.

Pick your weeks

Start with the area that needs the most love. Skip what's already solid.

School-routine rehearsal

Practice the bits that actually cause first-week tears.

Not a test

It's an observation guide, not a screening or diagnosis. It's meant to calm worries, not create them.

Made for you if…

  • ✓ Kindergarten (or Reception) starts within a year
  • ✓ You keep wondering what 'ready' even means
  • ✓ You'd like a plan that isn't flashcards

Questions parents ask

Is this a developmental screening?

No. It's an informal observation guide. If you have concerns, your pediatrician can do a validated screening. We point you to the CDC's milestone resources too.

Does my child need to read before kindergarten?

No. Independence, attention and getting along matter far more on day one. The plan reflects that.

Can I try the check-in for free?

Yes — a shorter online version is free at sprigplay.com/free/ready-for-school-check.

Refunds?
